Brody Benjamin Shines at WorldSkills Competition

We’re proud to announce that Brody Benjamin, a 3rd stage Mechanical Fitter apprentice hosted to Nestlé Uncle Toby’s in Wahgunyah, Victoria, recently competed in the WorldSkills competition at Wodonga TAFE, securing second place in a highly competitive environment.

Brody’s project involved producing and assembling a bolt, nut, and sleeve, testing his precision, time management, and problem-solving under pressure. Reflecting on his experience, Brody said, “It was a great challenge. Being under that kind of pressure really helps you grow as a tradesperson.”

Brody came incredibly close to winning, missing first place by just 3.5 points. After the competition, he realized an error cost him the top spot—something he’s determined to avoid next time.

WorldSkills offers apprentices the chance to showcase their talents in real-world tasks while competing with peers across trades. Brody’s participation highlights his passion and commitment to his craft. His advice to other apprentices: “Definitely do it. It pushes you out of your comfort zone. Just give it a crack—you never know what you can achieve.”

We commend Brody for his outstanding performance and look forward to seeing him continue excelling in his apprenticeship at Nestlé Uncle Toby’s.
