Apprentice of the Month – February 2025

We are excited to announce Robert Than as our Apprentice of the Month for February 2025!

Robert, currently in his 2nd stage of his electrical apprenticeship has demonstrated outstanding technical ability, dedication, and problem-solving skills throughout his journey to date, making him a deserving recipient of this recognition.

Over the past four months, Robert has been working diligently with Vector Technologies sub-contractor Wayne on the complete rebuild of a key manufacturing machine used for one of their in-house products. This massive project involved stripping the machine down to its bare bones and rebuilding it from the ground up. Through this process, Robert has gained extensive hands-on experience with Industry 4.0 components, PLC programming, complex switchboard work, and mechanical principles, all of which have greatly expanded his technical expertise.

Under the guidance of the team at Vector, Robert has embraced a learning approach that requires him to listen carefully, think critically, and problem-solve independently. His ability to grasp complex concepts and apply them in real-world situations has been nothing short of impressive. Operating at a level well above second-year standards, Robert’s skills and maturity in the workplace set him apart as a high-achieving apprentice.

At TAFE, Robert finds that many concepts come naturally to him and often takes on a mentoring role, assisting his classmates with their studies. This has been recognised by his peers at TAFE and this award recognises not only Robert’s technical abilities but also his initiative, leadership, and the hard work he continues to put into his trade.

Robert’s dedication and passion for his trade were also highlighted in a recent story we shared about his journey—be sure to check it out to learn more about his achievements.

Congratulations Robert! Your dedication and talent are paving the way for a bright future, and we look forward to seeing your continued success.
