Amber Saddington Wins Alstom’s Kaizen Award

We are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding achievements of Amber Saddington, a welding apprentice who has been making remarkable strides in her career. Amber, currently completing her Certificate III in Fabrication, and hosted to Alstom was recently honoured with the Kaizen Award at Alstom’s Dandenong site.

The Kaizen Award, an internal recognition program, was presented to Amber for her innovative design and fabrication of a custom welding trolley. Using recycled materials from the site, Amber created a practical solution to improve safety and efficiency by housing the welding unit at a secure and ergonomic level. This thoughtful project highlights her creativity, technical skills, and commitment to workplace safety.

What makes this accomplishment even more significant is that the award was voted on by all staff at the site, showcasing the respect and admiration Amber has earned from her colleagues. Her ability to identify a need, design a solution, and deliver it with precision reflects her dedication to her craft and her growing confidence as a tradesperson.

Our ATC Employment Consultant, Matt Muller, visited the site this week to acknowledge Amber’s achievement and celebrate her progress alongside our fellow apprentice Bailey Adams, who is advancing to the second stage of his fabrication apprenticeship. Bailey is another apprentice we admire for his high levels of skill and dedication to personal development.

We would also like to extend our appreciation to Alstom for recognising Amber with this award and for the invaluable support and training they provide to apprentices. Their commitment to nurturing talent plays a vital role in shaping the future of skilled trades.
Congratulations to both Bailey and Amber on progressing to your second stage, and a special congratulations to Amber on this well-deserved recognition! Your determination and drive to excel in your field are truly inspiring, and we can’t wait to see what you both accomplish next.
